Oooops! Reserve Champion "still great Caylin"
This horse show stuff has some pretty good life long lessons attached to it. For example: today Caylin was told she was Circuit Champion in 11 & under. She went through the complete process of receiving ribbon, prize, parade of champions, and photo. She was thrilled! Later in the day we had to break the news that she was actually Reserve Champion and she took it pretty well. "That's ok". Can I keep the ribbon?" Yes they said you can keep everything and said they were very sorry for the mistake. Smiling "That is ok".Friday, July 23, 2010

Marisa and Taylor Made's first show together
North Woods Farm is at the Half Penny today & tomorrow. Today Marisa & Taylor Made showed together for their very first time. Nothing but smiles on Marisa's face. Rocky Mountain Circuit Children's Pony Hunter Champion
Thursday afternoon Caylin was riding her electric bike from the house to the barn and had a wipe out. This was her first experience with some pretty good road rash. Friday was her first class in 11 & under which could have gone better but under the circumstances we were ok with it. Saturday went well in the Children's Pony Hunter and continued onto Sunday which earned her a Champion in the division. Thank you Mary for giving Caylin the knowledge & encouargement to do well.

James Lala in the Hunter Classic July 16th
North Woods Farm ~James Lala our clinician will be riding in the Class 410 - $2,500 USHJA National Hunter Classic on Friday July 16th. This will be held at the Colorado Horse Park in the Main Hunter Ring. It will be a wonderful educational opportunity!

Colorado Circuit Opener July 09-12
Well everyone is entitled to have a not so great horse show weekend... Caylin's turn. Friday was only one class but it was off to a bumpy start without her wonderful trainer Mary. Saturday off coarse from the very first fence. Ooopps! Sunday was a period of recovery with a red ribbon out of 13 entires. Not bad! Did we have fun? Yes! Are we going to show next weekend? Yes.

Meet Meera's new small pony. Ahhhhh...
This is Duncan! Super, super cute pony. The two are by far the best match ever! I was out to 5280 on Tuesday and was able to meet them & watch them go. I was so disappointed I didn't have my camera with me!! Mom Celeste was nice enough to email the pics above to me.

Meet Emma's new horse Bella
Emma (prior owner of Eli) now has her beautiful horse Bella. It is true love as you can see! Congrats to them both on the Reserve Champion at their first horse show!!!

The 11 & under had some pretty tricky roll backs and Caylin was the only rider to have a smooth round! Congrats on your win of first place! There was 6 in the class. The Children's pony hunter had 7 in the class with some very nice ponies. Angel placed with a 3rd & two 4ths. Friday, July 2, 2010
